These Quinoa & Black Bean Burgers take less than 30 minutes to make and are packed with so much flavor. Black bean, quinoa, onion, tomato paste and various spices that are all mashed together in one bowl, shaped into a patty, and grilled or baked for a couple of minutes on each side. This hearty vegan burger is a great easy nourishing meal to make during the work week. Also, these burgers are freezer friendly ( for instructions, see notes section in the recipe card)

In a large bowl, add your rinsed organic black beans, cooked quinoa, tomato paste, olive oil, water, grated onion, all the seasoning and the panko breadcrumbs.
Makes 4-5 Burgers.
Form four to five patties. Brush some olive oil on each side of the patties. You can grill or bake the patties. I grilled the patties in a grilled pan and cook on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes per side. Cooking time all depends on the thickness of your patties.
Time to Assemble the burger.
Assemble your burger with a hamburger, brioche bun or pretzel bun and all your favorite toppings. A chipotle mayo is a great sauce to pair with this Black Bean & Quinoa burger. Alos, don’t forget to butter and toast those buns!!
Black Bean & Quinoa Burger
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cooked organic quinoa ( I used rainbow heirloom quinoa)
- 1 can (15 oz) Organic Black Beans
- 1/2 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 – 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 & 1/2 tablespoons olive oil if you are calorie conscious, reduce the oil amount and substitute with water.
- 1/4 cup grated yellow onion
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
Spices
- 1 tsp ground paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp cayenne powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
