I have been loving matcha lately over coffee. I tend to do this every 6 months, where I go on a coffee detox. Sometimes I don’t really enjoy the taste of coffee and I am drinking it only out of habit. When that happens, I just go on a two or one month detox. I am a big advocate in listening to your body and I will just play it by ear and see how I feel after one week of no coffee. Tea and specifically matcha is such a great replacement for coffee. If you are a big fan of the Starbucks cold foam, then you will love this version of cold foam matcha latte.
Matcha is just ground up green tea leaves. Since you are consuming the leaves themselves and not just steeping it in a teabag, it is very potent and bitter in taste. Matcha kind of tastes earthy ( if that is an actual taste) and is so good when combined with oat/ almond milk and coconut sugar or maple syrup. I used the Malk organic almond milk. Malk Organics is probably one of my favorite brands to buy non-dairy milk. Their almond milk is organic and used with sprouted almonds, filtered water, and Himalayan pink salt. There are no fillers, gums or added sweeteners. It is just a great clean brand and I love that!
